I come before you today at Stonehenge, the mysterious stone
circle built nearly 5000 years ago. This is a mystical place, a
place most sacred to countless generations before us and countless
generations to
come.
Since it pre-dates Christianity, we regard Stonehenge as
more sacred even than a church. God cannot be confined within a
building; He is everywhere, in the earth beneath our feet; in the rocks
around us; in the sky above us. We regard Stonehenge as God's
church, since it comprises these elements guided by the hand of man who
fashioned these rocks into a temple.
Stonehenge
also holds personal symbolism for us as it is the place where we first felt
the true depth and magical power of our love for each other.
